Changes in temporal inequality of precipitation extremes over China due to anthropogenic forcings

چکیده

Abstract Based on the Gini-coefficients, this study has presented an analysis of impacts anthropogenic forcing temporal inequality (i.e., increase in unevenness or disparity) precipitation amounts (PRCPTOT), intensity (SDII), and extremes (R95p RX5day) at national regional scales (eight regions) China. A positive influence is found for over China, especially southern regions during period 1961–2005. Projections future indices except R95p have a stepped upward trend variability with increasing most China under SSP126, SSP370, SSP585 scenarios. Except Southern (SC) SWC2, significant decrease future, largest up to 29.5% Northwest SSP370. Results obtained from offer insights into help policy makers managing water-related disasters.

Detectability of anthropogenic changes in annual temperature and precipitation extremes

This paper reports on a study of temperature and precipitation indices that may be suitable for the early detection of anthropogenic change in climatic extremes. Anthropogenic changes in daily minimum and maximum temperature and precipitation over land simulated with two different atmosphere-ocean general circulation models are analyzed. The use of data from two models helps to assess which cha...

Contributions of natural and anthropogenic forcing to changes in temperature extremes over the United States

[1] Observations averaged over the U.S. for the second half of the 20th century have shown a decrease of frost days, an increase in growing season length, an increase in the number of warm nights, and an increase in heat wave intensity. For the first three, a nine member multi-model ensemble shows similar changes over the U.S. in 20th century experiments that combine anthropogenic and natural f...

Trends in Precipitation Extremes over India

One of the most significant consequences of global warming due to increase in greenhouse gases would be an increase in magnitude and frequency of extreme precipitation events. In the present study the trends in extreme rainfall indices for the period 1901-2000 were examined for 100 stations over India. The trends for the southwest monsoon season and annual period were calculated separately. The...

Highly significant responses to anthropogenic forcings

It has been suggested that changes in the atmospheric circulation caused by anthropogenic forcings are highly uncertain, owing to the large natural variability intrinsic to the system. Here, to assess the statistical significance of such changes for the midlatitude, large-scale atmospheric circulation of the Southern Hemisphere, we analyze a new 40-member ensemble of integrations, from 1920 to ...
